Product Options

How to choose which size, the bigger/taller the pet, the larger the Rubit you want to go with.  If your pet is wearing 1/2" wide, more than likely you're going to want the small Rubit so it won't hang down as long.  The small will only fit over a 1/2" wide D Ring.  The medium will fit over any width of D Ring but you may find it too bulky for small dogs.

Now Available in 2 Sizes, Small & Medium

21.9 mm = .86 inches

Small Rubits will only clip on 1/2" wide Lupine

27.2 mm = 1.07 inches

Medium will clip on all three widths of Lupine

What is a Rubit?

The Rubit Dog Tag Clip is just what you need for those times when you want to change collars but don't want the hassle of moving the dog tags.

The Rubit (roo'-bit') Dog Tag Clip makes this easy because it's a clip that you attach the tags to. When you change collars, you just un-clip the Rubit from one dog collar and then clip it to the other collar. It's easy!

It's really important for dogs to wear their dog tags in case they get lost. Dog tags are their best chance to be reunited with you so make sure they wear them!

This is an excellent product. Much better than the Nitelz I had before this. The rubit fastens nice and tight, whereas the previous product fell off many times.

Love the Rubit!!!

If you are like me and buy your dogs many collars the Rubit is for you! Switching collars and tags are so easy now! Before buying it I would just have a separate tag for each collar but not anymore! Now I have one tag and one rubit that works for about 5 different collars!

Love my rubits!
Anne Lindsay (Chino Hills, CA) 6/3/2011 5:29 PM
I have been using rubits for several years and I think they are a great product. I like to change my dog's collars for the seasons and I hated changing the tags. I got into the habit of not having the tags on, which is awful, because changing them was such a pain. This is no longer a problem with Rubit. The clip on the rubit is nice and strong so it isn't just going to come off. I have terriers that love to wrestle and I have never had one come off. To be fair, I have had one problem, with one dog, and my rubit. For whatever reason one of my westies has a talent for getting her toe stuck in the ring occasionally when scratching during allergy season. I don't know if this is because it hangs lower with the rubit, or maybe her toe is exactly the right size. She has done it twice in the last 3 years, she has a medium. My min pin has a small, and I think maybe I should switch the westie to that size. Something to keep in mind for those with small, itchy dogs like mine - order the right size. Thanks Jill for giving a size comparison on the site!

Rubit tag clip

This is what I have been looking for and is the perfect thing for enabling me to switch my dogs tags on her other collars. I love it! I've shown all my dog owner friends I like it so much.

Great product

We had the NiteIze tag holder before, and it would come off at least once a month, sometimes as much as once a week. Sometimes the fault of the humans (catching it with leash on/off) and sometimes the dog. We have now had the Rubit for about 2 months. It has not come off once, and I never find my hands catching it. There was a small adjustment at the start since on my very furry dog I normally grab the tags to find the loop for the leash, and now they do not hang as low, but I like that better now that I'm used to it. We only switch the tags between collars about twice a year, and I think it might be harder for that since it has a tighter clip, but our main use is to keep those rings that come with tags from being pulled on and bent out of shape, and the Rubit is holding up great. 2 thumbs up for Rubits from the human, and 2 paws down from the dog who can no longer fling her tags across the room after she gets them free! ;)
