Who ever would have thought chickens would have become so popular in my life or anyones life. So many of my customers are drawn to my site because of the way I live, on an acre of land, surrounded with wildlife inside and out. I didn't choose to have chickens, I knew nothing absolutely nothing about them when I moved in. 5 of them were left with the house when I purchased it in 2005. While unpacking and setting up my home, I was needing to learn how to clean and care for them. I found the local feed store and the rest is a down hill slide into my obsession with these feather friends. Yes I absolutely positively hug my chickens and they love it. It doesn't hurt them. Here's a You Tube Video I did in 2009 demonstrating "How to Hug a Chicken" Lana was my chicken who was very willing to help and I'm the speaker (Jill Klancic) the owner of Pet Expectations. We're in front of the main coop building, one of many coops at Pet Expectations. It's a large Tuff Shed Barn I converted into a coop.

I'm one of the really strange ones, I've become a vegetarian because of them, they are never killed, they live out their entire lives here. I also keep roosters and I try to educate people about how awesome they are as pets as well.
My hens have forever homes, even after they stop laying they stay until the day they die, as do the roosters. I have a rooster and a baby chick with disabilities living in my bedroom in a play pen on wood shavings. Many people have indoor chickens, they've actually created "diapers" for chickens because people enjoy having chickens inside.
