Customers who Rescue Pets

One of the things I noticed right away about my customers is that they have really BIG HEARTS.  A large group of my customers actually are involved in rescuing animals and finding them homes.

I started getting a great deal of feedback on a page I had on my site for a short time about a local friend of mine who was trying to find homes for dogs that she'd rescued.  Customers wanted to know if there were any other people in other states that I knew of trying to find homes for pets.  Which got me thinking.....

And so began my page of links to my customers who rescue all over the United States.  This will be constantly changing so check back often.  If you want to be added the only requirement is you need to have some sort of a website that I can add a link to.  Just email me at petexpectations@gmail.com  let me know you'd like to be added to the Customers who Rescue page, and include your City and State, a link to your website and your contact information.

People Skills for Animal Shelters

Animal Friendly - Customer Smart:  People Skills for Animal Shelters.

Recently Jan Elster (Author of the above handbook) became my customer.  I immediately offered to put a link from my site to hers on my rescue page.  My hope is that rescue groups will access the chance to order her handbook which is produced for her by the Marin Humane Society.  No profit is made from these books by the time publishing, writing etc. is figured into the equation.  Jan has offered that anyone who wishes to purchase these handbooks who finds the information on Pet Expectations and mentions it can receive a 10% discount.

Blind Dog Rescue Alliance

Welcome to Blind Dog Rescue Alliance.  We are a small group of volunteers spread out throughout the United States (and even a couple in Canada!) who are dedicated to advocating for blind and visually impaired dogs by rescuing dogs in shelters, helping blind dog owners, and educating the public. We formed in 2009, though our members have many years of experience with blind dogs, and with rescue.

We are always looking for volunteers; let us know if you want to help us!

So please look over our website, visit our blind dogs for adoption, read their stories, and we think you will agree that "blind dogs see with their hearts!".

Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida, Inc.

Last year, Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida found "fur"ever homes for more than 550 Labs across the state of Florida.  All of our foster Labs stay in homes with families, the only ones who are boarded are those that have medical conditions that require a stay at the animal hospital.  No dog is allowed to go up for adoption until their health issues are addressed; including Heartworms (a very popular disease among irresponsible dog owners in Florida, given our year-round mosquito population), orthopedic issues, skin diseases, you name it, we have probably seen it.  Nonetheless, it is so rewarding to see these guys go to great homes and families that want nothing more than to give them the love they are just waiting to share!

It came to be that every time I adopt out a Labrador, they take a piece of my heart with them, but with every new Labrador that enters my home, they gift me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be Labrador & I hope to be as loving, forgiving & caring as they are.

In the U.S.A. each HOUR, 800 dogs and cats are euthanized, due to not having enough homes for them. There are 45 cats, 15 dogs & 1 horse for each person in the U.S. Rescue

Spirit of the Cat Rescue

We are a small group of loving foster families searching for the perfect homes for our orphans.  Many times we care for abandoned kittens, older and special needs animals, animals that must be adopted from a home instead of a shelter.  We are allied with both the local Humane Society and the local shelter, which has recently been privatized and is now a much better shelter than when it was city run.
