I use this style on Duke and Pebbles. Every once in a great while, I will find one of Pebbles tags on the floor in the house usually by the bed in my room where they wrestle. I haven't had anything come off without "dog intervention". If you have dogs that are big on "dragging each other around by the collars" you may want to try the Cetacea Tag-its instead. I haven't found any item that is completely fool proof. Duke can get any collar off Pebbles, even Lupine's :0).
Fits all three D-Rings of Lupine Collars
Now another option for pet tags is available. Nite Ize is out of Boulder, Colorado and I have been selling a much larger version of this item on my Nite Ize page. This stainless steel S-Biner hooks on perfectly to all size of Lupine collars.
Even though pet tags fit on these without jump rings, we're not recommending doing so due to the tight fit of the tags on the clip. With the right amount of pressure, and the right angle the tag could open the bar and release the tag.
I've included photos for you to see what it looks like on a 1" Lupine collar, with two of my pet tags on, one from the new VIP machine and one from my older Imarc machine.

Make sure and use jump rings between the tags and the NiteIze tag holder! The tags will come off without the jump rings on as the tags will leverage the bar open without the pivot of the jump ring between!
